Florida

We went to Florida in September and had a great time. We stayed with Tim's mom and dad in Tampa Bay. It was so relaxing and great to spend time with them. Soon I will post some pics from Disney and Busch Gardens.

Family Pic

This was taken December 2007. When we go home to Elm Creek we will hopefully get a Rempel pic to post.

More renovations...

We promised some people that we would put some pics of your bedroom when it was finished(almost). We still need curtains, trim, light fixture a Jo Dee wants an new duvet cover. At least we are back in there after 10 months.

It's been awhile

Ever since I changed jobs, I haven't been able to sign onto our blog to add new posts. I guess I could have done that at home, but I never thought of it at the right time, and I'm never on the computer anymore unless I'm at work. Melanie mentioned that Uncle Fred wanted me to add more postings, and after checking out Trev's blog again today, I thought I'd try signing in again. I'm not sure why it worked today, but it never worked before.
Lots has happened in the last few months. We're going to paint the last bit of the bedroom tomorrow. That project has taken forever, but it's finally getting close to finished and looks really good. We bought a camping truck last month. Our backyard finally has grass where the dirt pile and sand have been since we moved in. We were fortunate enough to split the cost of a new fence with our neighbour just before he moved away. We also had a few chances to go camping and visit family. I'm looking forward to winter because it forces me to put some of my projects on hold until spring.
That's all for now. We lost the charger cord for our camera, so I can't post new pictures of the bedroom until we find it or get other batteries. I added some general stuff for a Christmas list. Since I've given different lists to the Rempel's and the Hildebrand's to keep confusion down, this stuff is stuff I like to have around when I work in the garage, or things that I wouldn't necessarily mind getting duplicates of.

Reno's - Tim after some demo in our Bathroom!

We are doing tons of renos right now. We started the bathroom and that is on hold until our bedroom is done! I will post some pics soon. I like doing renos. I am learning lots from Tim. I was even crawling around in the attic with Tim on Friday. He had to talk me through 1 or 2 small closterphobic moments! HA!

Mmmmmm Samosa's

Well, we decided to get together with Jenn and Dean every month or so to make a meal from a different ethnicity each time. Last time was Indian Food. Here are my samosa's! They actually turned out not to bad. It was fun! Jenn made an awesome curry dish!

Long overdue

We're bad. Not the kind of bad that lands us in jail, but the neglectful, forgetful kind that leaves a blog without updates for 2 months. Christmas was great. It was fun to spend time with family again, and the gifts are always fun to give and receive. January saw the return to work, which is never anticipated, but wasn't too bad this year. We've moved out of our bedroom to allow us to tear down the closet and start working on getting the walls and ceiling ready for paint. I'd put some pictures up, but I'm at work and don't have any here.

We also went to see Jesus Christ Superstar, and it was awesome. I'm not a big musical fan, but this one was definitely worth going to. Aside from a few small projects around the house, we're taking it easy while we wait for more money to spend on the bedroom and bathroom renovation projects. I always have big plans and get Jo Dee hooked on them, so it takes us awhile to save up for them. In the end, I think they will all be worthwhile.

Summer is a long way off, but I'm already starting to think about what to pack, buy and invent before our next canoe trip. It's a contradiction, but I always plan on building new, neat stuff to make life easier and more comfortable at camp, while at the same time trying to bring less stuff along and make our packs lighter. More/Lighter/Cheaper don't always go hand in hand.
